Knowledge is Power
No need to panic or to be embarrassed. No one judges you at Private Diagnostics. For whatever reason, you may not want to go to your family health care provider or local health clinic to be tested for a sexually transmitted disease.
STDs don't just go away by themselves. STDs can cause general body infections or can directly affect your reproductive and sex organs. If you think you have been exposed, get tested, get treated and tell your partner or partners, so they can also be tested and treated.
Symptoms
Some general symptoms both men and women may have are:
. A general itching around your sexual organs
• Blisters, sores, or bumps near your mouth, rectum or sexual organs
• A fever and overall aches and pains similar to the flu
. Pain or burning when you go to the bathroom
. An increased need to urinate
. A sore throat
Women may have these more specific symptoms:
• A vaginal discharge or smell
• A bloody vaginal discharge when you are not having your period
• Pain in your pelvic area, somewhere between your belly button and your sexual organs
• Pain during sexual relations
• Burning or itching around your sexual organs
Men may have:
• A discharge or drip from your penis

If you are experiencing symptoms and suspect you have contracted an STD, order your confidential test(s) and follow these instructions:
If your test is positive:
get treatment, finish the treatment and tell your partner(s) to get tested so they can be treated. Don't have sexual contact until your and their treatment is complete. They can infect other sexual partners, and even reinfect you after you have been treated. You may also want to retest before you resume sexual activity.
To Reduce Your Risk
Not having sex is the best way to prevent STDs. Having monogamous sex with just one uninfected partner is another way to avoid infection.
Always ask your sex partner prior to having sex if they have ever had a STD or used drugs via needles.
If you notice a sore, discharge, redness or a rash, don’t have sex with a person who said they didn't have an STD or used drugs via needles. You can get STDs during sex whether it is oral, vaginal or anal.
Use latex condoms or rubbers when you have sex orally, vaginally or anally. Use a new condom or dental damn for each sexual act. Remember they are not 100% effective. Carefully dispose of used condoms and dental damns.
